But it is important that the upcoming DaVinci 17 has support in macOS Mojave. Resolve should support it, that's trueResolve does not affect it. And if this format is very commonly used in stock footage, I would say that it it's probably quite important to support. Given it's supported in Fusion Studio, it would surely be possible to support it in Resolve (Studio) as well. Regardless of that, it appears Fusion Studio has its own independent decoder, unrelated to the OS, that is still capable of loading this format on all versions of macOS. Maybe Resolve was using the macOS-provided codecs, but they removed it from Resolve because it was no longer working on Catalina - even though that would also break it for Mojave, where it could still have worked? In other words, Resolve cannot load this codec even on 32bit-capable macOS (10.14), while Fusion Studio can load it even on 64bit-only macOS (10.15) Resolve Studio 16.2.3 : cannot load PNG-in-MOV Resolve Studio 16.2.7 : cannot load PNG-in-MOVįusion Studio 16.2.4 : can load PNG-in-MOV But this is definitely not the full story. Not sure why it's so hard to understand it. Andrew Kolakowski wrote:Nothing is wrong- PNG inside MOV is simply unsupported anymore (in any of 64bit only OSX).
